Wall Decals & Wallpaper Installation Guide
Before You Start
Preparation is Key:
Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, smooth, structurally sound, and free from mildew, grease, and other stains. Remove any loose paint and correct any wall irregularities. Old wallcoverings should be completely removed.
Store self-adhesive wall decals in conditions that mimic the final installation environment. Extreme temperature changes or high humidity can affect performance. Avoid applying decals on dusty or dirty surfaces as dust can adhere to the edges of the paper.
Test a small section first to check for adhesiveness. We recommend priming the walls prior to installation to improve adhesion and ease of removal. Allow the primer to dry for at least 24 hours before installing the wall decals.
Be gentle when handling the material. Excessive pulling can stretch the wall decals.
Wall decals are washable, but too much moisture can reduce their durability.
Keep in Mind:
Wall decals are not 100% opaque. For best results, paint patterned surfaces before applying the decals.
When applying decals to a painted wall, ensure the wall is freshly primed to prevent paint from peeling upon removal. Avoid installing decals on untreated drywall as it may peel off during removal.
Remove wall decals slowly at a 180-degree angle to minimize tension against the surface. Using a blow dryer can help soften the adhesive for easier removal from painted walls.
We are not responsible for any damaged surfaces or removal difficulties as the decals have been successfully tested on various surface types and conditions.
Installation Steps
Clean the Wall:
- Wipe the wall with a dry cloth to remove any dust or debris, ensuring proper adhesion of the decals.
Position the Decals:
- Start from the desired top corner and work downwards. Use a level for proper alignment. If necessary, cut around each decal before applying for precise positioning.
Apply the Decals:
- Gradually peel off the backing paper, ensuring the decal sticks smoothly to the wall. Use a squeegee or a soft cloth to press down firmly on the decal surface, starting from the center and working towards the edges.
Smooth Out Air Bubbles:
- Use a soft cloth to smooth out any air bubbles, pressing down firmly on the entire decal surface.
Repeat the Process:
- Ensure proper alignment and spacing between decals. Repeat the process for each decal.
Final Check:
- Go over the entire wall surface with a soft cloth to ensure all air bubbles are removed and decals are properly adhered.
Maintenance:
- Avoid excessive moisture to maintain durability. Clean gently with a damp cloth if necessary.
